(HQ Online) - In the context of general difficulties, there are still bright spots in some key export industries with impressive growth turnover.
From the beginning of the year to December 15, there were three export commodity groups with turnover increasing from 1 billion USD or more compared to the same period last year, including Fruits and vegetables; Transport vehicles and spare parts; and rice, according to preliminary statistics of the General Department of Customs.
Specifically, fruit and vegetable exports reached 5.38 billion USD, an increase of 2.2 billion USD (equivalent to an increase of 69.2%).
Regarding the export market, China continues to hold the No. 1 position with a turnover of more than 3.4 billion USD (as of the end of November), an increase of 149% over the same period last year (equivalent to an increase in turnover of more than 2 billion USD) and accounts for about 65.4% of the total fruit and vegetable export turnover of countries.
Transport vehicles and spare parts have the second-highest turnover growth. The export turnover of this product reached 13.24 billion USD, an increase of 1.82 billion USD (equivalent to an increase of 15.94%).

With rice products, from the beginning of the year to December 15, the whole country exported more than 7.93 million tons, with a turnover of nearly 4.54 billion USD, an increase of 15.4% in volume (equivalent to an increase of more than 1 million tons). Increasing nearly 36% in turnover (equivalent to an increase of 1.2 billion USD) compared to the same period in 2022.
ASEAN and China are Vietnam's two largest rice export markets. Of which, exports to ASEAN reached 4.58 million tons (by the end of November), up 25.6% over the same period last year; China reached 896 thousand tons, an increase of 10.9%.
Overall, the amount of rice exported to the two markets reached 5.48 million tons, accounting for 72% of the country's rice exports at the same time.
From the beginning of the year to December 15, Vietnam's total export turnover reached 337.62 billion USD, down 5.2% (equivalent to a decrease of 18.47 billion USD) compared to the same period in 2022.
